Let the Joy Begin

Oh my goodness friends. It’s been such a little while since I last wrote here, and wow, what a season it’s been. Back in June, we were all waiting for Patchwork Palooza to begin, and since then so much has unfolded. Most of that joy has been happening over on my new YouTube channel, A Scrappy Little Joy, which wasn’t even planned when I last posted in June! I realized it’s high time I invite you properly to come along.

When I hit publish on that June post, I couldn’t have guessed that a few weeks later, I’d be filming scrappy tutorials, sharing quiet reflections from my morning walk-runs, and even letting the Serendipity Woods mice make their YouTube debut. But that’s the way creativity often works; one small idea blooms into something unexpected and full of life.

Here’s what you’ll find on A Scrappy Little Joy so far:

  • The Weekly Whim – cheerful quilt block tutorials, one block at a time, adding up to a scrappy quilt we’re building together.

Scrappy Studio DIY – simple projects like my washable quilted design boards (no hot glue required!) to brighten up your sewing space.

Ponderables from the Path – little video postcards from my daily walk-runs, where I share the tiny wonders that remind me why connection matters.

Stop-motion magic – yes, the mice are stitching right alongside us, tiny paws and all.

And friends, I have to pause here to say – I’m floored. In just one brief month, what began with only a few hundred folks following along has blossomed into a community of more than 4,400 kindred spirits. The enthusiasm, encouragement, and joy you’ve shared have quite literally snapped this channel to life in ways I never could have imagined. I can’t thank you enough for showing up with your scraps, your cheer, and your willingness to stitch along.

Finally, I’m reminded that the best parts of life aren’t always planned. Sometimes they bloom out of a simple idea, a spark of courage, and a willingness to begin. Back in June, I couldn’t have imagined A Scrappy Little Joy—and yet here we are, stitching it together one block, one scrap, one story at a time. I can’t wait to see where this journey carries us next, and I hope you’ll remember that all are welcome here, because this is a space where we can each grow, in our own way, stitch by stitch.

Perfection is the beacon, but the joy is in the journey.
With happy scrappy cheer,
Pam 💛

  1. I have enjoyed your work with Jane but have to ask: Where did she get her wonderful metal pedestal that she stands so beautifully upon as she holds court in your studio?
