Patchwork Palooza is Coming!

A joyful new sew-along begins July 10th in A Block at a Time with Andover

Hello, my quilty friends!

I’m so excited to invite you to join me for a brand new sewing adventure – Patchwork Palooza – a joyful, scrappy sew-along hosted in the A Block at a Time with Andover Facebook group. We kick things off on July 10th, and I’d love for you to be part of it.

Whether you’re a seasoned stitcher or a curious beginner, this is your invitation to carve out a little creative time each week for patchwork joy.

What is Patchwork Palooza?

Patchwork Palooza is a 22-week sew-along featuring approachable, cheerful quilt blocks – each designed with scrap-happy fun in mind! You’ll receive one block each week, with instructions that are:

Beginner-friendly
Easy to follow
Delightfully scrappy
Centered around joy (not perfection!)

In case you’d like a video tour of the quilt along (and a view of what the actual sample quilt looks like in real life), I made a little post about it over here at my instagram page. As you can see, the sample quilt features the fabulous Andover Century Solids and for those in love with this exact version in either a dark or light background, preorder kits are available right here in Serendipity Woods It features 23 fat quarters, plus extra for chain blocks, background and binding.

Of course many of us will also be choosing the scrappy route for creating our blocks you’re welcome to use your favorite scraps, stash fabrics, or any combo that makes your heart sing.

Where is it happening?

That’s where I’ll post each week’s block instructions, along with tips, encouragement, and maybe a few cheerful surprises. It’s also where YOU can share your blocks, ask questions, and connect with fellow quilters.

When does it start?

The first block drops on July 10th, 2025!
We’ll share a new block every Thursday for 22 weeks, wrapping up just in time for the coziest part of the year.

What do I need?

23 fat quarters or the equivalent in scraps
Extra for the chain blocks, binding and background (see the chart below for yardage details)
A bit of time each week to sew something scrappy
A cozy, encouraging corner online (that’s us!)

How do I join?

Download the free block each week and start stitching!

If you’d like to stitch along with the exact Century Solids fabric palette in either a light or a dark background (including that pretty bundle you see above), preorder kits can be found right here in Serendipity Woods. We’ve been assured by Andover that all Century Solids to meet our preOrder needs will be arriving in plenty of time for their arrival into the hands of our enthusiastic participants! For those who want to use a treasured bundle or dive into their stashes, the yardages are below. Just pull together the equivalent!

Want to spread the joy and invite your friends to join the fun?
